January saw CG Flooring successfully joining the Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS). CHAS assesses health and safety policy statements, organisation’s health and safety; specific health and safety arrangements to a standard acceptable to potential buyers and to others.
Each month thousands of contractors and consultants (suppliers) apply for work with public and private sector organisations (buyers). To win work, they must meet the buyer’s health and safety standards. Nationally there are more than 400 public and private sector buyer organisations, such as councils, housing associations, NHS trusts, including a growing number of large private companies who employ sub-contractors.
CG Flooring hopes that by joining CHAS, this will verify their compliance with important parts of health and safety law (The Health and Safety at Work Act, CDM regulations etc) and to open up opportunities in new markets where CHAS compliance is prerequisite.
CHAS works closely with Constructionline which is the Government’s national register for suppliers. CG Flooring Systems is also a member of Constructionline.
