Global flooring solutions specialists CoGri Asia Pacific Pte Ltd (CGAP) have been awarded a superflat floor construction project by a world leading logistics company on Jurong Island.
CGAP have built quality floors for many renowned clients on Jurong Island such as Mitsui Elastomers, LTH Logistics and Singapore Power. This new job will start in May 2015, and is at a single-storey warehouse that will store non-hazardous chemicals and dangerous goods.
With this in mind, it’s important for high tolerance floor flatness to ensure work safety and operational efficiency.
CGAP will be constructing a 100mm thick bonded topping slab using the Wide Bay Laser Screed method. The thick bonded idea was deemed more suitable to the alternative of overlaying the floor with a self leveling epoxy.
The floor topping in the aisles will be cast and finished to Defined Movement Superflat specification, as per the UK Concrete Society’s Technical Report No. 34, 2003 Edition, Table 4.3 for Material Handling Equipment lift heights over 13m. The total Defined Movement floor area is around 7,000m2.
As well as this, floor toppings of about 500m2 in the transfer areas will be constructed to Free Movement “FM2 Special” tolerance.
CoGri is expected to complete the entire floor construction process within seven weeks. They’ll carry out floor flatness compliance surveys as the work progresses to ensure that the required tolerance limits are met, which is a testament to their commitment to detail, quality and getting the job right.
