TR34 4th Edition has enabled floor designers to use basic fibre performance information in their designs which is particularly important for piled slabs.
As fibre suppliers have historically been reluctant to provide this data, ACIFC member Face Consultants will be leading a project, on behalf of ACIFC, to provide independently verified data for fibres commonly used in piled slabs.
The project will refer only to the steel fibre material properties, such as size, shape and tensile strength, and not specific fibre brands.
ACIFC is seeking assistance from members for a peer review which will cover areas such as concrete mix design, fibre variety, dosages, sampling, test equipment and the calibration test rig.
